Typhoid

Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella typhi. It's typically transmitted through contaminated food or water. Symptoms include fever, headache, abdominal pain, and in severe cases, it can lead to complications or even death if not treated promptly with antibiotics. Vaccination and proper sanitation are key in preventing its spread. If you have any concerns about typhoid, it's best to consult a healthcare professional.

Symptoms of typhoid fever usually develop 1 to 3 weeks after exposure to the bacteria. They can include:

  1. High fever, often as high as 103°F to 104°F (39°C to 40°C)
  2. Weakness and fatigue
  3. Headache
  4. Abdominal pain or discomfort
  5. Loss of appetite
  6. Diarrhea or constipation
  7. Rash consisting of rose-colored spots
  8. Generalized aches and pains

These symptoms can vary in severity and may worsen over time if left untreated. If you suspect you have typhoid fever, it's important to seek medical attention promptly for diagnosis and treatment.
